Public Notification on CCPA, CAA and DVPA
The National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) has been designated as the Competent Authority for the Implementation of the following three legislations:
1.Child Care and Protection Act of Bhutan 2011 (CCPA);
2.Child Adoption Act of Bhutan 2012 (CAA); and
3.Domestic Violence Prevention Act of Bhutan 2013 (DVPA).
The NCWC would, therefore, like to notify the general public and concerned agencies in Bhutan that the Rules and Regulations for the three Acts have been endorsed and approved for implementation by the NCWC Commission at its 5th Meeting held on 4th July, 2014. These Rules and Regulations have come into effect from 1 January 2015.
The Acts and their Rules and Regulations are available for reference and can be downloaded from the NCWC website using the following link- www.ncwc.org.bt, and the NCWC facebook page- National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC).The NCWC would like to solicit the cooperation and support of the general public and all the government and non-government organizations, as well as the private sector in promoting and protecting the rights of women and children in Bhutan.
The publication and announcement of the Rules and Regulations is supported by the project “South Asia Initiative to End Violence Against Children (SAIEVAC)†with funding from the SAARC Development Fund Secretariat (SDF) under the National Commission for Women and Children.
