Training of Trainer-Dekyid Thuendrel
A five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) program on Dekyid Thuendral-Parenting without Violence toolkit was conducted from March 25-29, 2024 in Thimphu. Facilitators from six intervention schools and three gewogs were trained with an additional two schools from Thimphu Thromde joining in response to the need of new facilitators. The training equipped facilitators with essential skills and knowledge to effectively implement the program in their respective schools and communities.
The participating schools identified as intervention schools are Kuzhugchen Middle Secondary School, Khasadrapchu Middle Secondary School, Wangbama Central School, Sisina Primary School, Bjemina Primary School and Tshaluna PS. The intervention Gewogs are Kawang Gewog, Mewang Gewog and Geney Gewog.
The training is a key activity of the project ‘Empowering Communities to Address Violence Against Children’ and is aimed at equipping facilitators with the required skills and knowledge on delivering parents and children sessions in their respective schools and communities. By empowering communities with this knowledge, the project seeks to foster a culture of protection and support for children, ultimately contributing to the prevention of violence and the promotion of their well-being in schools and their community.
