Orientation on internal child safeguarding and protection policy
Children can be potentially subjected to various forms of exploitation, abuse, violence and neglect in families, communities, organizations and also by people known and unknown. As such the Internal Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy has been developed to promote and protect the rights of our children from abuse and exploitation during their engagement with the organizations/agencies and also to promote a common understanding on the best interests of the child and any actions affecting them.
A one-day orientation program on Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy was carried out by the National Commission for Women and Children on November 27, 2020 in Thimphu to all relevant stakeholders. The policy has been contextualised as per the needs of the agencies and the existing norms and standards, and is expected to guide the organizations when working with children and youth. Representatives from RBP, Dratshang Lhentshog, attended the workshop.
