Annual Gender and Child Focal Point(GCFP) meeting
The National Commission for Women and Children(NCWC) is organizing Annual Gender and Child Focal Point(GCFP) meeting from 20th to 25th January, 2020. The main objective of the meeting is to orient GCFPs on the initiatives to promote gender equality and child wellbeing and protection, update on the progress, discuss challenges and way forward. It is also to sensitize on the plans, programs and systems in place and build capacity of the GCFPs on Project Management Cycle from gender and child wellbeing and protection perspective
The GCFPs were sensitized on the Gender and Climate Change linkages including legislations, initiatives and the implementation of Gender Responsive Nationally Determined Contributions in the country. Sessions on linkages between "Gender and Waste" and "Gender and Agriculture" was also conducted to enhance their understanding on differential impacts of Climate Change on men and women. The session is also expected to provide understanding on the differential adaptation and mitigation capacities of men and women in Climate Change.
