Awareness on NCWC for students from Laya Central School
The National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) carried out an awareness program to the teachers and students of Laya Central School on 15th February 2019 on the NCWC’s vision, mission and mandates, key gender concepts, situation of women and children, key legislations pertaining to women and children and services, TollFree Woman and Child Helpline (1098) for women and children in need of care and protection.
15 students, led by 6 staffs, were in the capital as part of their winter exposure program and this is the fourth year the school has coordinated such programs.
Advocacy materials (including NCWC brochures, Gender/Children at the Glance, Toll free Helpline, and child friendly version of the CCPA) were also distributed to the teachers and students.
