ToT on Marketing Principles and Strategies
From 22 to 23 April 2018 Phuntsholing
The National Commission for Women and Children is executing project titled TA9016(BHU): Decentralized Coordination and Partnerships for Gender Equality Results (Financed by the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction through ADB). This capacity development technical assistance (CDTA) will strengthen the institutional capacity of NCWC to promote gender equality and women's empowerment through national and local government institutions. It will also contribute to strengthen private sector through public-private partnerships (PPPs) in economic projects and in the provision of social services that benefit the poor, especially poor women. Further, the TA will build capacity of 24 functional women Self-help Groups (SHGs) in Zhemgang, Trongsa, Trashigang, Samtse, Pema Gatshel and Thimphu by enhancing their marketing capacity and promoting entrepreneurial culture in their villages for employment creation and income enhancement.
NGO READ Bhutan has been contracted as the Implementing Agency (IA) for Output 3: Capacity building of selected SHGs on upgraded production technologies and market accessibility undertaken. As part of the project implementation arrangements, READ Bhutan is organizing Training of Trainers (ToT) on Marketing Principles and Strategies from 23rd - 24th April 18 at Phuntsholing. 39 officials from Tarayana Foundation, Bhutan Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Department of Agriculture Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), National Post Harvest Centre, National Organic Program and RNR RC Yusipang are attending the training facilitated by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Gupta as the Marketing Expert. In-turn, the participants will customize this training module and topics to local context and thereafter, train our farmers, farmer groups and cooperatives to embrace appropriate marketing principles and strategies to boost their sale of agricultural produce and other craft products.
