Theme: Planet 50-50 by 2030: step It Up for Gender Equality
International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day recognizing achievements of women despite their social, economic and political dimensions.IWD is a day to honor women worldwide and also to mark a call for accelerating gender parity.
The IWD intent is towards building capacity in deepening thinking about future progress, helping in securing women and girl's rights and shaping our society into a more tolerant and equitable arena.
The day is observed in Bhutan with the financial support of the Royal Government and UN partners and event is jointly coordinated by RENEW and the National Commission for Women and Children.
